The library got an amazing shipment of almost 650 new STEM related books recently! They are all on the shelves, with some on top for easier access and visibility. The students have been learning about some of the new books and we have been discussing and presenting to each other about how the books are related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
The ABCs of some of the topics that I purchased books on are:
Automobiles (cars, trains, and planes), Bugs, Colors, Disabilities and diseases, Experiments, Fairytales (graphic novels and retellings), Gardening, How stuff's made, Inventions and Inventors, Jane Goodall (and other scientist biographies), Keyboards (and other musical instruments), Legends (of UFOs, Atlantis, vampires, etc), Military, Near or Far (and other spacial relation books), Origami, Prehistoric animals (dinosaurs), Quinn and Penny Investigate How to Research, Recipes (cookbooks), Solar System, Time telling, Unusual Machines, Volcanoes (and other landforms), Weather, X-Ray technicians (and other STEM careers), Yorkshire Terriers (and other pets), Zoology (animals)
